Is The New Google Pixel 3 Worth Getting?

Updated: Nov 2, 2018

Last week Tuesday on October 9th, google released the new pixel 3 and 3 XL. What makes this new pixel better than its competitors? Here are some great features of what the pixel 3 has to offer.

Color Choices

You have 3 color choices to choose from which are white, black and not pink. Not pink has a slight pink hue, similar to the color of strawberry yogurt. Creamy but not too strong.

Sizes

You can choose between the pixel 3 and 3 XL. The 3 XL is a larger version providing more display area.

Brighter Display

The pixel 3 has a display much brighter then its previous models along with rich vibrant colors. When competing with samsung or iphone they are just right under but still impressive.

Louder Speakers

The new model has front speakers that are much louder for those who really want to hype it up without the need for an external portable speaker.

Screen Calls

What surely got a lot of people's attention is the need to not answer those unwanted phone calls without having to actual answer them. Using the pixel 3 you will be able to screen your call before answering it yourself. When a call comes in you have the option to answer or have an answering assistant do it for you. The assistant will handle the call based on what you tell it to do. The callers responses will be transcribed right in front of you so you can continue to respond accordingly without ever accepting the call yourself. This will be very useful with the many spam or telemarketer calls we receive each day.

Camera

The pixel 3 will come with a rear 12mp camera and a 8mp front facing camera. Similar to the iphone x, the pixel 3 will offer a portrait mode where you will be able to achieve a soft background in areas you want it to and than focus purely on your subject. The pixel 3 also has a super self mode designed for group shots with a wider angle, a feature that the iphone xs does not have.

With the pixel 3 having two front facing cameras, the only downside to that is the notch at the top of the screen for the 3 XL model. The screen is designed to extend all the way to the upper corners of the phone, similar to the iphone x series. Few users who have had access to the phone early, say this design doesn't necessary give more to see as the icons at the top make it harder to access since they are broken into two sections due to the notch being in the way.

If you want to get your hands on a pixel 3 you can pre order them now starting a $799 for the pixel 3 and $899 for the pixel 3 XL. A more affordable price than the new iphones.
